The Country I Grew Up In Is GONE. - Meria Heller
For all of you under 50, you won’t relate to a lot of what I’m about to share. For anyone over 50, it will be easy.
Today we live in a totally different country than it was 50 years ago. As I approach my 60th year on Planet Earth, in the country formerly known as America, now the corporation called The United States of America, I realize my country is unrecognizable to me. The more I speak to my peers the more I realize I’m not the only one that sees clearly the result of the “American Experiment”.
When our founders organized this country they believed in equal rights for THEIR peers, surely not everyone. If they had, slavery, womens rights and more would not have ever been an issue. But, the country did evolve into a more saner, open, freedom to choose country as the years went by. As the waves of immigrants poured through Ellis Island, each nationality faced challenges as the “low rung of the totem pole” in American society. They also created a lot of good that the general public benefited from.
I was a child of the fifties and sixties. America in the fifties was a wonderful “happy days” kind of place. We all believe we had freedom and the world was our oyster if only we were willing to work for the “American Dream” it was attainable. Today as we end 2009, the American Dream has become the American nightmare. No longer “happy days” but more “fear and loathing” days.
We still get the same patriotic clap-trap from our “leaders” about freedom and democracy but it no longer exists, unless you are a corporation. Our freedoms have become fascism, and democracy, well, it never truly existed. You no longer are free on any level, except free to believe the lies they tell you.
Don’t get in your car if you had a glass of wine with dinner
Don’t smoke a cigarette in public
Don’t use natural remedies to heal yourself
Don’t think about growing your own food
Don’t think about having the freedom to be out past “curfew”
Don’t attend a protest unless you want to be arrested
Don’t think you can drive without: insurance, seat belts, whatever
Basically - don’t think and don’t do.
4400 civil laws applicable in America. You can and will be arrested for anything at any time based on the color of your skin, the color of your car, or the color of your politics.
People say “oh, those laws are in place to protect us” - I say -bullshit. They are all revenue for the fat cats who want to keep their jobs. We get false data constantly from “govt” agencies. We get fear 24/7 from the govt. controlled media. We get poisoned slowly by the food industry and pharmaceutical industry (owned by the same soulless people).
What saddens me more than anything is that many young people have no memory of what real freedom was like. Many being born today in America will NEVER know what real freedom is. Technology has isolated us - discourse is gone, debate is gone, public meetings are gone. The American spirit is gasping for air on a dying planet.
All those years ago, we actually went to school to learn, not memorize answers to pass a test. We were taught how to think by our parents. We were taught how to question everything, especially authority. We were taught our government worked for US, not the other way around. We were taught things like brotherhood, integrity, honor, dignity.
We used our imagination to create the fantastic inventions we all enjoy now. We led the world in innovative thinking, manufacturing and so much more. We could feed the world with what our farmers produced. We were truly an independent nation. A nation where you could choose whether to be happy or miserable. The world “terror” didn’t exist. Even after the Great Depression, we knew we could use American ingenuity and bounce back, and we did. Unfortunately so did the bankers and politicians who corrupted our American system to the point of no return in which we are now living.
Learning real American history and foreign policy is a shock to anyone’s system, but as a true Patriot one has the DUTY to be an informed citizen and keep their government in check. Not to be informed of the latest celebrity scandal or reality tv show. We have traded in our patriotism for the American dream, only to find that the dream is over and we are stuck in a nightmare.
We are over-policed, over-legislated, over-taxed, over-worked, over-drugged and now living in another Greater Depression to which there is no rebound. No bouncing back for the American worker, only bouncing back to post WW2 depression. We hear the same lies from politicians year in and year out, and watch them sell the very lifeblood of this nation out to the highest bidder. Our troops are not defending our shores, but defending profits for multi-national corporations in foreign lands. Our economy was sold to the highest bidders and “free trade” lies that crippled the American worker and economy.
Our standard of living has been thrown back 60 years with no chance of recovery due to the international pacts like NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and more. We are each reduced to slavery in many forms.
I believe in the American spirit. Perhaps it’s the human spirit. People can only take so much oppression before they wake up and fight like they have nothing to lose, because they no longer have anything to lose. What would we lose today if we had another revolution? A revolution demanding our rights be restored, and our country restored? What if we demand our food be grown here in America again? What if we demand American made products or NO SALE. What if we demanded truth from our government or trying them for treason? What if we demanded where and how our taxes get used? What if we ALL told our bosses we are not coming back to work until it’s truly OUR work and we are rewarded for it with a decent wage? People can stop the world in a day by just saying “no” and standing down. Yet, we continue to drag on day after day getting more and more whipped by the systems put in place to keep us down.
The only way to achieve this is to unite. Unite regardless of political persuasion or party, regardless of religious or racial differences, and just unite for the GREATER GOOD. We can always figure out the other stuff once we each have a taste of real sweet freedom and independence. Our lives and futures depend on uniting for a common cause - taking our lives and our country back. If we don’t get back to the future where America is concerned, we will live in a future not of our making. We will become another slave worker nation for the globalists, and eventually even lose the will to live and love.
Liberty is liberty. Do you want your liberty or do you want more of the same? Real liberty is the freedom to choose for yourself every day in your own personal life.
How many today are willing to say “give me liberty or give me death”? We already have the “death” upon all of us. I fear for my country, I fear for my childrens country, I fear for my grandchildren’s country. The only way out of this mess is through it. Americans need to shake off the Matrix of lies we live under, and stand tall and say “I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore”. We aren’t sheep, we are strong people. It’s time for us to rise and stop the oppression. We must stand and say NO to war, any war. Let’s force our leaders to put OUR money where we want it, back into our economy and taking care of the needs of Americans for a change. The average American who needs food, health care, a decent job and place to live. Put our farmers and manufacturers back to work. We’re not the #1 superpower of the world anymore, and that’s a good thing. Let’s concentrate on America for a change and “make the world go away” for a few decades or so to repair and rebuild.
We still have that spirit within our blood, it’s time to draw upon it and make this country a true republic with freedom and real justice for all.
